Decision making about safeguarding is a core thread of practice for DSLs and safeguarding teams. These decisions can be, and are challenged, often from a position of hindsight. This webinar will review the way in which we make defensible decisions, so that you can reflect upon your own practice and any identify any areas for professional development.

Christine Freestone, a former head teacher, inspector and director of Safeguarding Network has decades of experience in preparing for inspection while keeping the needs of our learners paramount.

The focus areas for the session will allow you to consider:

  • Are you using a defensible decision-making model? 
  • Are there any gaps in your current practice? 
  • What may be the risks in incomplete recording and communication?
  • Hindsight bias and its impact
  • Looking ahead to the benefits of improved practice.
