On this page, members can access the Safeguarding Update Training designed for your start of term INSET days.
This pack is now updated for 2026, including a completely reworked PowerPoint presentation and scenarios along with presenter notes. The training pack includes two sets of scenarios - one generic set (called "Scenarios - September Update (2026)"), and the other a setting based scenario about a young person called Ryan. Download the scenario relevant to the age group you work with.
Accompanying the training is a handout called "Processes handout". This handout aims to provide information about processes around child in need, child protection, children looked after and children in the secure estate as required by KCSiE.
Note: The material in this update session is based on the Information Only version of Keeping Children Safe in Education released on the 7th July 2026. We will monitor the release of the final version and where necessary will update this pack.
