The inspection and QA of alternative provision is rightly under scrutiny. For some of our young people an alternative provision helps them to maintain a positive view of engaging with adults and education.

Presenter

Christine Freestone has a broad experience of education and social care. She is former head teacher, inspector, nurse, and senior leader for children in care with a particular passion for working with SEND. Chris works alongside leaders in supporting them to work within the legal frameworks , always with the child at the centre. She understands the vital role of front-line processes in education settings in keeping children safe and supporting staff in doing so. Her style is one of supporting reflective practice and practitioner/leadership development.

Aims and objectives:

This session will reflect upon the areas below :

  1. Curriculum and outcomes in an AP

  2. Safeguarding and the safeguarding culture in an AP

  3. Challenging the AP

  4. Holding an evidence base which satisfies you , the inspectorate and the AP

What you need to know to attend:

The course will run for one session online.

The course will run from 10:00-14:00.
