Cost - The costs are £99+VAT for members and £149+VAT for non-members

This 8 hour course will seek to support you in the role as well as its’ new dynamic.

We will also upload the recorded sessions to this page shortly after the training – you are able to watch a maximum of two recorded sessions and still complete the course.

Presenter

Chris Freestone – Chris has a broad experience of education, social care and health settings including as a Head Teacher and safeguarding lead. She has been an inspector and compliance manager and understands the vital role of front line processes in education settings in keeping children safe and supporting staff in doing so.

Aims and objectives:

With Keeping Children Safe in Education (2022) at its’ heart we will:

  • review the role and expectations of the Safeguarding Governor within the context of KCSIE 2022.

  • explore the role within the context of the governance guidance / responsibilities, statutory guidance and its’ contribution to the wider governance elements of the inspection framework.
  • explore the practicalities of gathering, reviewing, reporting and reflecting on the evidence you gather within the context of an effective working relationship with the Head Teacher, DSL, safeguarding team and school community.
  • apply the principles and practice with reflection and examples / case studies.
    By the end of the programme you should have a mini CPD portfolio of resources which will support your role going forward.

The course will be delivered over zoom, with it being spread over 4 sessions.
