This 12-hour course helps structure and approach supervision using an established supervision model to empower staff and focus on the experience and progress of young people. Designed by highly experienced senior managers, the course addresses key dilemmas in balancing the needs of the organisation, the employee and the young people to create a different kind of conversation which both supervisees and supervisors find effective.

Presenter

Kat Aukett is a highly skilled and experienced social worker who has made a significant impact in both statutory and third sector organisations. With a passion for improving the lives of vulnerable individuals, she has successfully held Director positions in charitable organisations where she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of social welfare issues.

Kat possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which enable her to effectively engage with a diverse range of service users, stakeholders and partner organisations. She is a dedicated and committed individual with substantial experience. Her expertise in successful management of multi-disciplinary services for children and young people, including youth justice services, has earned her a reputation as a passionate advocate for vulnerable children and families.

Aims and objectives:

Understand the principles behind supervision models.
Recognise and apply reflective supervision.
Undertake dynamic risk assessment during supervision.
Create clear, focused and reviewable plans and action.

What you need to know to attend:

The course will be delivered over Zoom in 2-hour sessions, spread over 6 days. You must attend 4 out of the 6 sessions, and catch up on the other two in order to receive your certificate.
